George Leslie is delighted to share that we have been successful in obtaining certification in respect of ISO 19650-2:2018 (incorporating the UK National Annex). ISO 19650 is an international standard that will assist George Leslie to securely manage information over the whole project lifecycle using building information modelling (BIM).
We also acknowledge and thank the team at Digital Guerilla who provided invaluable support and guidance to help us establish a practical process aligning with the standard.
This milestone is important to George Leslie as it will allow a common-sense approach to information management that will offer enhanced accuracy as well as improvements in efficiencies along with carbon performance and means that we are aligned to the UK information management mandate.
Going forward, ISO 19650 will bring several benefits to us and our client’s and supply chain, including:
- Streamline our approach to information management
- Maintain quality across the built asset lifecycle: Manage information consistently through strategic planning, design, engineering, development, documentation and construction, operation, maintenance, refurbishment, repair, and end-of-life.
- Boost collaboration and competitiveness: Removing barriers to collaborative working and competitive tendering.
- Reduce the risk of exposing sensitive information: Taking a security-minded approach within George Leslie and the digitisation of project-related information.
- Improving collaboration with project stakeholders via a shared and managed approach to information management.
- Access to new markets, where conformance to this standard is a requirement.
Congratulations to all of the team involved in this process and who will be maintaining our accreditation in the future. Yet another example of our resourcefulness and passion within George Leslie.
