On the 24th of April 1973, a young man came to work at George Leslie who was recruited down on McCulloch Street by George Leslie Snr himself.

Fast forward 50 years and this week Donald Law is celebrating 50 years of service working at George Leslie. Donald was surprised on site by our Managing Director, David Ross with an award and lunch for everyone on site.

Donald’s contribution to George Leslie has been truly exceptional. As a young man he worked on farms so used to operating heavy machinery. When he joined George Leslie back in 1973 he was made a machine operator.

In his own words ‘For all you young ones out there in the rain and mud winding me up for having a nice comfortable seat in the dry, warm cab. Remember that when I started they weren’t all like that, it was scaffolding wrapped in chicken wire in the baking sun, torrential rain and battering hail. I’ve suffered through all weathers for my seat

Throughout his 50 years with us, Donald has consistently displayed a strong work ethic, professionalism, and a positive attitude. His enthusiasm for his work and his passion for the industry are infectious, and he has always been willing to go above and beyond to ensure the job is completed to the highest standard.

Donald is a valued member of our team, and we are grateful for his loyalty, dedication, and hard work over the past five decades. We are honoured to celebrate this incredible milestone with him and look forward to many more years of working alongside him.

Congratulations Donald on your remarkable achievement and thank you for your unwavering commitment to George Leslie.
