Site Agents will be responsible for organising and managing the day-to-day running of site operations, supervising employees, subcontractors and specialist contractors, and ensuring projects are delivered in line with programme, budget, quality, safety and environmental requirements.
Responsibilities
- Organise and coordinate labour, subcontractors and specialist contractors on site.
- Maintain awareness of programme constraints and drive works to meet agreed targets.
- Monitor the quality of workmanship and ensure works are completed to the required standard.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality and environmental procedures.
- Order and manage materials, plant and equipment in line with programme requirements.
- Ensure plant and equipment are used efficiently, safely and securely.
- Maintain accurate site records, registers, reports and filing systems.
- Support or manage setting out requirements and ensure information is accurate.
- Work closely with the wider site management team to control works on site.
- Assess the accuracy of works and identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce costs.
- Represent the company professionally when dealing with clients, consultants, subcontractors and the wider project team.
- Support community benefits and other project-related requirements where applicable.
About You
We are looking for candidates who are confident managing site operations, building strong working relationships and maintaining high standards of safety, quality and professionalism.
- Previous experience in a similar civil engineering or construction role.
- Strong supervisory or management experience on site.
- Experience working with direct labour, engineering staff, subcontractors and specialist contractors.
- Good knowledge of setting out requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and operatives at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- IT literacy and confidence using relevant systems and documentation.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
- A professional approach and the ability to represent George Leslie positively.
- Willingness to mentor, support and develop junior or site-based staff.
- Valid CSCS card.
- SMSTS 5 Day qualification.
- Good knowledge of health and safety within construction.
- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
- Roads and Street Works certification and first aid training would be advantageous.
