The project comprised upgrading works to the deck and the underside of Skeabost Bridge, situated on the main A850 road, 4miles north of Portree on the Isle of Skye.
The scope of the works included:
Single-lane traffic was maintained throughout the course of the works and a piled crash-deck supported on steel beams was one of the protection measures implemented to ensure there was no adverse environmental effect on the river below.
A challenging contract at this remote but scenic location above the River Snizort, with the ever changing weather conditions in this unforgiving location.
The overall project involves the off-site fabrication and installation of a new linkspan structure at Oban Ferry Terminal for client Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMal).

GL making a return visit to the Sound of Kerrera off Oban, to undertake substantial repairs to the breakwater which suffered collision damage following an altercation with a workboat earlier this year.
