Clydeside Regeneration Limited have issued the following press release:
Civil engineering company George Leslie Ltd has been appointed to carry out all marine works associated with the basin and river frontage. Included in this is the creation of a 40m wide esplanade river frontage that will, for the first time since shipbuilding began in this area, give the public access to the river and in particular the basin that built the ‘Three Queens’ ships.
Paul O’Donnell of Dawn Urban Regeneration Ltd, one of the development partners, further commented:
We are delighted to appoint George Leslie Ltd as part of our project team for Queens Quay; the firm has a proven track record and is a leader in its field.
The £4.7m contract which includes extensive concrete and quay wall piling works is due to start on site in February 2018.
The overall project involves the off-site fabrication and installation of a new linkspan structure at Oban Ferry Terminal for client Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMal).
