The project involved general maintenance & improvement works to the existing reservoir, scour tunnel, wave wall, spillway and embankment drainage. The works involved having to scour the reservoir to a safe, monitored, operational level and had the added difficulty of propping the inadequate spillway bridge to access the reservoir crest with the plant and materials required. The Dam is located near the end of a 3 mile, pot-hole strewn, single-track road from the main A702.

The overall project involves the off-site fabrication and installation of a new linkspan structure at Oban Ferry Terminal for client Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMal).

GL making a return visit to the Sound of Kerrera off Oban, to undertake substantial repairs to the breakwater which suffered collision damage following an altercation with a workboat earlier this year.
