Piling works are underway for the new secondary berth for Western Ferries at their McInroy’s Point terminal for the Gourock to Hunter’s Quay ferry following the demolition and removal of the old berthing structure.
The new berthing structure has both 900mm diam & 600mm diam tubular piles secured with a combination of rock anchors and toe dowels. The associated new fendering and metalwork together with the shoreside concrete works, fencing and access realignment complete the works which will provide enhanced resilience for the operators of this busy and popular ferry service.
The overall project involves the off-site fabrication and installation of a new linkspan structure at Oban Ferry Terminal for client Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMal).
