Work is progressing well on Montgarrie Bridge over the River Don near Alford for Aberdeenshire Council. The work has involved removing the original 1898 two-span, metal lattice girder deck, strengthening the existing piers and foundations and constructing a new reinforced concrete deck with new steel lattice parapets similar in appearance to the existing bridge. The contract has also included the provision of a temporary pedestrian bridge and service diversion.
