AERIAL PHOTOGRAPH - PROGRESS AT LARGS PIER
22 May 2009

The aerial photograph shows the current progress at Largs Pier, with the new, sheet-piled outer leg of the pier taking shape. The line of the now-demolished original outer face can still be seen, with some of the original timber piles at the outer end and the GL excavator removing the last of the old infill at the other end. Dredging operations can also be seen in the background. Access has to be maintained for the Cumbrae Ferry which continues to operate a half-hourly service from the slipway which can be seen on the left of the photograph.
